Sherry Kinlaw

Sherry Kinlaw

Sherry Kinlaw was born in 1950, raised in Lumberton, North Carolina, and educated at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (undergraduate degree in anthropology and world religion). While working as a staff assistant for the Duke Medical Center, she was a member of the Feminary collective for two years, then worked on the committee that produced The Newsletter.

For seventeen years, she founded and managed a gelateria/bakery in downtown Durham, Francesca’s Dessert Cafe. She has now retired from a job as Project and Facilities Manager for Self-Help Credit Union, a non-profit lender focused on low-income and underserved communities.
