Dianna Ward

Dianna Ward was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1968, the third of five children, She grew up in El Paso, Texas, and in Kansas City, Kansas. Dianna graduated from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She also had a joint master’s degree in statistics and in operations research from North Carolina State University.

Dianna Ward’s parents were involved in the civil rights movement, encouraging their children to be all they could be. Dianna followed in her parents’ footsteps as a lifelong advocate for all forms of equal rights. 

Dianna Ward is the owner of Charlotte, North Carolina Tours, LLC, which is a business for bicycles, Segways, and walking tours. She is the executive director of Charlotte BCycle, a bikeshare business. Most recently, Dianna is the majority owner of Sankofa Partners, LLC, which is a real estate investment company that is developing commercial property in the Five Points area of Charlotte’s Historic West End, where she bought her first home in North Carolina.

Dianna Ward is married to her partner of 16 years. Together, they have four children and three grandchildren. They are the proud aunts of 15 nieces and nephews, ranging in age from 6 months to approaching 40 years old.  Dianna is an avid cyclist, and she enjoys multiday hikes and bike tours.
