Pagoda aerial composite 1948&70

The top aerial view of the Pagoda cottages was taken after 1970, when the swimming pool was added to the left (north) of the two-story building that became the Pagoda cultural center. Florida State Road A1A runs north and south in front of the buildings. The aerial view below that shows the lot across State Road A1A as it looked in 1948. A new bridge built in 1995 emptied its traffic onto State Road A1A, exactly where that house across the street is, creating traffic problems for the Pagoda. Sometimes, late at night, if the traffic signal was green, cars would crash through the Pagoda gate, causing damage to the building or cars parked near it.
